The best way to identify 'F' types is by the chassis number. Although
photographs may show licence plates, over time, many cars have
been re-registered and exported. Even where the original registration
is known, many records have unfortunately been lost. (See Registry)

The chassis number was stamped on the factory plate on the firewall photo
the centre hinge of the bonnet ('hood' in the U.S.A.) - photo
and the driver's side front dumb-iron (the cast front spring carrier) - photo
additionally the engine no. is towards the rear of the engine block - photo
