The best way to identify
'F' types is by the chassis number. Though
photographs may show licence plates, over
time, many cars have
been re-registered and exported. Even if
the original registration
is known, many records have alas
been lost. (See Registry) |

factory plate on the firewall |

the centre hinge of
the bonnet ('hood' in the U.S.A.) - |

and the driver's side front dumb-iron
(the cast front spring carrier) - |
 |
additionally
the engine no. is towards the rear of the engine block - |
